West is Best

The west coast of the UK, the west coast of Ireland, the west coast of the US, why do theses meetings of land and sea under the setting sun so inspire writers.

 

Her fiction and non-fiction has appeared in The Stinging Fly, The Dublin Review, The White Review, BBC Radio 4, the Irish Times and Winter Papers Vol.3. She is the winner of The White Review short story prize 2017. Her debut short-story collection is forthcoming from The Stinging Fly Press in 2019, and she is working on a novel.

 

Nicole Flattery grew up in Kinnegad, Co Westmeath, where her mother was as an accountant and her father an English teacher. Flattery studied Theatre & Film at Trinity. Her fiction and non-fiction has appeared in The Stinging Fly, The Dublin Review, The White Review, BBC Radio 4, the Irish Times and Winter Papers Vol.3. She is the winner of The White Review short story prize 2017. Her debut short-story "Show them a Good Time" was published in 2019, and she is working on a novel.
